Overview

Tucson manufactured by the Korean company Hyundai was launched in Malaysia as a compact SUV in futuristic design style and made available to the people in three trim levels: Elegance, Executive Plus and Sport. Also, the company offers two engines to deliver maximum power output with economic fuel results. Nu 2.0-litre and Theta II 2.4-litre are integrated with MPI (Multi Point Injection) fuel system to increase efficiency. The 2.0-litre engine produces power of 158 PS at 6200 rpm along with the high torque of 192 Nm at 4000 rpm. While the other 2.4-litre engine gives power result of 177 PS at 6000 rpm and the peak torque of 227 Nm at 4000 rpm. This is further coupled with 6-speed automatic transmission and offered in electric 4-wheel drive mechanism.

This mechanism supports your vehicle to drive through rough and plain terrains allocating the 4-wheel and 2-wheel drive automatically to the wheels resulting in accurate handling of the car and improvised fuel efficiency. Exteriors is kept simple and elegant with projector headlamps equipped with LED positioning lamps, hexagonal shaped black radiator grille, fog lamps positioned lower on the bumper and side mirrors fitted with LED side repeater lamps. The 5mm thick windshield and protruding rear spoiler maintains aerodynamics at high speeds. Talking about the interiors, flexible rear seats of the car is an extravagant feature. Mileage and Fuel economy:

Integrated with MPI (Multi Point Injection) fuel system, both the engines give quiet basic mileage count driving in the standard conditions. The Nu 2.0-litre engine has a fuel consumption of 11.7 kmpl while the other engine Theta II 2.4-litre gives the mileage count of 9.5 kmpl.

Power

Engine made in aluminum featuring variable valve timing and induction system reduces the overall weight of the engine giving maximum power output. Tucson has got compact hatchback dimensions with overall L x W x H dimensions of 4410 mm x 1820 mm x 1660 mm. The wheelbase of the car is 2640 mm which is not the best figure in its class and in return it does offer less space inside the cockpit.

Interior

The 5-seater SUV assures comfortable ride with equipped essential features. The panoramic sunroof gives you a reason to smile and enjoy, allowing the fresh air and light to seep in. The dashboard is lined with dark colored plastic accentuated with the silver colored linings around AC vents, stereo system and stereo. This hatchback offers you flexible and adjustable volume of boot space. The standard boot space with rear seats in normal position is 730-litres with rear seats up. Depending on the space required for luggage, rear seat can be folded flat to the surface, in 60:40 ratio.

Tucson is offered with electric 4-wheel drive mechanism that detects the road surface and alters the speed and acceleration accordingly. Safety and Security

Hyundai Tucson is employed with 6 airbags located in different positions inside. The airbags are fitted in – dual front airbags, two side impact airbags in the front cabin, two curtain airbags on both the sides of the car. Sensors are equipped in the rear bumper of the car that detects presence of any obstacle when you move closer towards it and raise an alarm against the object. This Rear Parking Assist System (RPAS) helps you to park your vehicle safely and protect the car from getting scratched.
